June Rodgers  – Comedian

Long established as one of Ireland’s top comic performers, June Rodgers has regularly appeared on TV, in films and the full range of stage productions from musical theatre to pantomime.

Born in Tallaght, county Dublin, when it was still a sleepy rural village, June first came to prominence in John Player Tops, and soon became a household name. She took a leading role for six successive seasons in pantomime at the Gaiety Theatre and then moved to the Olympia for the productions of Cinders and Jack and the Beanstalk.

June gave a hilarious performance in the stage musical version of The Full Monty at the Olympia Theatre and on tour, and played the part of Edith in The Pirates of Penzance at the Helix. Her film work includes Fat Annie in Mrs Brown D’Movie with Brendan O’Carroll and Agnes Browne with Angelica Houston, On the Nose with Robbie Coltrane and One Step Back starring Patrick Bergin and Brendan O’Carroll.

She also made a much-praised appearance on the Mrs Brown’s Christmas Day Special in 2018. Listeners of the Joe Duffy’s Liveline show will be familiar with June’s regular feature spot on Funny Fridays.

As a cabaret artist, June has starred in her own show, the June Rodgers’ Christmas Show, for a number of highly successful seasons at Taylor’s Three Rock, and prior to that, at the Moran Silver Springs and Red Cow Hotels. She has extensively toured the US and has featured her range of funny characters in a number of live and studio CD recordings and on DVD. She had sell-out performances at Cork Opera House and Bord Gais Energy Theatre.

June is a huge animal-lover and lives in a beautiful old stone cottage in Dublin with her husband Peter Lane. To relax, she enjoys her hobbies of gardening and walking.
